Bridesmaids Boxes

DIY Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes by OinKSoooo, in case you don’t follow me on Instagram, and since I’ve been SERIOUSLY neglecting this little blog of mine, I will share a little news…we’re engaged!!  I’m incredibly excited!  We are getting married March 28, 2015 and I’m very much looking forward to it!  Because we are having a somewhat small wedding (100 invites), our bridal party is small as well.  It includes my sister, Matt’s sister, and two of my closest girlfriends.

Now, I know this is a food blog, and yes, I will get back to food momentarily, but I just wanted to share a little DIY project that I did.  I’m sure, if you are a pinterest user like myself, you have seen all sorts of “will you be my bridesmaid?” ideas.  I wanted to come up with something special to share with my bridesmaids to make them feel special and show them how important it is to me that they will be with me on my big day.  Here are the bridesmaid boxes I put together for them:

PROCEDURE:
First I found these precious cards at Charm and Fig’s fabulous shop on Etsy.  I got the ones that said “Darling Will You Be My Bridesmaid” and a special one for my sister (pictured as first picture and inside is below). Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes by OinK

I then penned individual notes to each girl:

I then went to Michael’s and bought four wooden boxes, champagne paint, filler paper, and ribbon.  I also picked up some gold foil letters to put on each envelope.  I then painted each box the champagne color and loved how it turned out! Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes by OinK

I then poured myself a glass of champagne in the Venetian glasses that we purchased on our engagement/anniversary trip and got to work on the boxes (trust me, almost everything is more fun with champagne). Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes by OinK

For the inside of the box, I included an Essie nail color (each girl got a different color that I thought they would like), a print out of the bridesmaids dress (this has actually changed since then because I ended up getting a different dress than I had initially selected), a print out of our wedding palette (this is a collage of pictures from Pinterest that I found inspiring and put them onto a postcard I printed at Staples), and french macarons.

Side note: I highly recommend making a wedding palette.  I’ve been able to give it to all of my vendors so they all know what colors I’m looking for and they don’t have to just rely on the names of the color to get the right look.

I put the gold foil stickers on both sides of the card.  I used the upper case letters to decorate the front, and the lower case ones to seal the envelopes.  Because I’m a huge dork, I found it amazing that their first initials were J, K, L, M…

Once the boxes were filled and the cards completed, I wrapped the card onto the box with ribbon. Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes by OinK

I shipped Marina’s to NY and Juli’s to Denver, then hand-delivered my sister’s to Charlotte and Lauren’s to Greensboro. Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes by OinK

THE VERDICT:  They all said yes!  I have four of the best girls in the world to stand by my side and I could not be happier!

P.S. I did something similar for my ring bearer, Nicolas.  Also known as one of the cutest children born on this planet.  I purchased a card for him from Annie’s Impressions on Etsy.  He also said yes in an adorable video (below). Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes by OinK

I was creeping on your blog (totally normal) and I came across this and LOVE it! I was actually going to do something similar for my girls but got lazy and now I wish I had done it. I might come calling to you when it’s time to assemble the bridesmaids gifts, you seem to have it down girl! : )
