I have a real treat for you guys today!  I made a video!  It’s been ages since I’ve done that and you know what? How to Make and Use Compound Butter

How-To: Make and Use Compound Butter for your Thanksgiving Turkey

The Elements
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks) softened at room temperature
  • 1 TBSP fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 2 TBSP fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 1 TBSP fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh shallot, diced
Procedure
  1. In a bowl combine all ingredients mixing with a spoon until evenly distributed
  2. Place compound butter underneath the skin of the poultry on top of the meat (so in between) (this is demonstrated fully in the video above

    GIRL! OMG I’m obsessed with your video! Seriously! It is the cutest thing ever, and my favorite line is when you said ‘and I highly suggest some sanitation for this!’ I simultaneously burst into laughter and tears. I’ve never even heard of compound butter, but after seeing this video and all your awesome instructions, I’m thinking I need it in my life for every meal!
