In court every morning, the judge calls the “docket” or the calendar for that day. Here on the blog, “The Docket” is my weekly post that gives you a little peek into the life of the Attorney in an Apron, and what kinds of fun things are happening in my life this week!
Wow this week was crazy. It was my last week of work at my law firm, Matt’s tire blew out, and I had to pack up as much of our apartment as possible and drive to Charlotte to start my new job today. I wanted to do this post last night but I had the absolute worst headache ever and just couldn’t push through it. This week truthfully was quite a whirlwind and I’m looking forward to starting my new job and living in Charlotte near my parents. I’ll do a quick rundown of what this week was like….
Matt’s tire blew out this week and it looked like this:
No bueno. He ended up having to get four new tires because they were all dry-rotted, which ended up costing a pretty penny. Right before our move. Great.
I had court this week twice, even though it was my last week, so that added to the insane hectic week of trying to get everything wrapped up before moving to Charlotte and starting my new job. On my last day, the office threw a little party, complete with cake (pictured above with my office nickname) and margaritas. Y’all know how much I love me some margaritas.
Here’s some pics from the going away party. I got some amazing parting gifts and delicious drinks. They really know how to do it up right!
I spent all day Saturday packing. It wasn’t very much fun but it needed to be done! Saturday evening, I went out to dinner/drinks with two girlfriends and of course, I got a margarita. We went to Mellow Mushroom and then moved on to Goodberry’s (my favorite ever and one of the things I’ll miss the most about Raleigh).
Sunday I drove from Raleigh to Charlotte. I had packed my car to the brim with all of my clothes and office stuff but thanks to some careful Pinterest planning, I was super organized and it took us about 5 minutes to unpack everything.
Next week on The Docket: I’m starting my new job today and I’m super excited but also a little anxious. The unknown is always a little nerve-racking but I think I’ll manage I’ll be back at the end of the week to tell you how it went and keep you posted on what’s happening on OinK!
